KCSE 2025 Results to Be Released Next Week as Ministry Moves to Ease Anxiety
The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination results will be released next week, bringing relief to thousands of students, parents, and schools across the country who have been anxiously waiting.
According to the Ministry, the release will take place on Thursday at Mitihani House, marking the end of weeks of anticipation following the conclusion of the national examinations in November.
A total of over 900,000 candidates sat for the KCSE exams, making it one of the largest cohorts in the country’s history.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba assured the public that the delay in releasing the results should not be a cause for concern. He explained that the marking, verification, and quality assurance processes have been completed and that the results are ready for public release.
The Ministry maintained that the January timeline is consistent with previous years and ensures accuracy and credibility in the examination process.
As preparations continue, the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has activated its online results portal to handle the expected surge in traffic once results are released.
Candidates will be able to access their results online using their index numbers, allowing them to quickly plan their next steps, including university applications, college admissions, and technical training opportunities.
However, authorities have also issued a warning to parents and students to be cautious of fraudsters taking advantage of the waiting period. KNEC cautioned against individuals and online groups claiming they can change or upgrade KCSE results for a fee, emphasizing that examination results are secure and cannot be altered under any circumstances.
In addition, the Ministry of Education is considering changes aimed at making it easier for students to access their KCSE certificates. One proposal under discussion would allow candidates to collect their certificates directly from sub-county education offices instead of schools, especially in cases where schools withhold certificates due to unpaid fees.
As the country awaits the official release, students, parents, and learning institutions are preparing for the next phase of the academic journey. The release of the KCSE results will open the door to university placements, career choices, and new opportunities for thousands of young Kenyans.
